One of the most modern educational exhibits on the cities of the future is being created at the Porcelain Factory in Katowice. Today marked the official launch of the “TAURON Green City of the Future” project. A conference announcing the event was held in the revitalized spaces of the former Porcelain Factory. The interactive exhibition will open to visitors in the fourth quarter of 2026. TAURON Green City of the Future combines technology, ecology, and imagination into a fascinating story about sustainable development.
The project is being carried out by Bajka Pana Kleksa, and TAURON Polska Energia S.A. is the Title Partner. The Main Partners are the Upper Silesia-Zagłębie Metropolis and Drzazga Clinic, and the Regional Partner is the Silesian Voivodeship. Supporting Partners include: the City of Katowice, InPost S.A., net-o-logy Sp. z o.o., Fabryka Porcelany, Bajka Pana Kleksa Sp. z o.o., and the Regional Chamber of Commerce in Katowice. The project’s Technology Partners are: Grupa Clue Sp. z o.o. Sp.K., Sharp, and Bose Professional, and the Event Partner is Cobu Design.
Education through Interaction
The centerpiece of the exhibition will be a modern, interactive model of the metropolis of the future. Visitors will see a city where glass facades blend with lush vegetation, and roofs are covered with solar panels. The space will be filled with autonomous vehicles and wind turbines, and the whole will be crowned by structures evoking Silesian identity as a symbol of innovation and clean energy.

The team responsible for the creative concept and execution has been attracting tens of thousands of tourists to Katowice for years. Grzegorz Pietraszewski, CEO of Bajka Pana Kleksa, emphasized the uniqueness of this format.
When we opened *Bajka Pana Kleksa* in 2019, I felt that environmentalism—a topic very close to my heart—was important to society. Today, together with our partners, whom I sincerely thank for joining this project, we are creating TAURON Green City of the Future. Just a few years ago, we were going with the environmental flow, but today I feel like we’re going completely against the tide. Today, we need to start talking to everyone again—including the youngest among us—about how important environmental protection, the energy transition, and green energy are – said Grzegorz Pietraszewski, CEO of Bajka Pana Kleksa.
Learning through experience and experiments
Designed as a “workshop of the future,” the exhibition will focus on full interaction. School-age children will be able to control different parts of the city using panels filled with levers and buttons. Each action will produce a real-world effect: from triggering the flow of green energy and launching zero-emission vehicles to fascinating demonstrations of the forces of nature, including spectacular experiments illustrating the formation of electrical discharges and the power of electricity.
Young people know what renewable energy is. As the Title Partner of the project, we want to show children and young people what the energy of the future is, how it works in practice, and how it’s actually changing the entire environment. “Our involvement in TAURON Green City of the Future is an investment in the environmental awareness of future generations, who will use these technologies every day – Krzysztof Zawadzki, Vice President of the Management Board of TAURON Polska Energia S.A.
The vision of a sustainable city also involves caring for residents’ quality of life and health. Beata Drzazga, CEO of Drzazga Clinic, the project’s Main Partner, highlighted the health aspect of the project:

Strength in cooperation
The participation of the Upper Silesia-Zagłębie Metropolis, which is the event’s Main Partner, is of particular importance for the integration of cities and municipalities. Łukasz Zych, spokesperson for the Upper Silesia-Zagłębie Metropolis, emphasized the role of education and concrete solutions in building sustainable cities of the future:
The cities of the future must be modern, green, and resilient to the effects of climate change. In the Upper Silesian-Zagłębie Metropolis, we consistently support initiatives promoting green-blue infrastructure, sustainable mobility, and improvements to the quality of urban spaces. We are also involved in educational and partnership initiatives that help local governments implement modern solutions that benefit residents and the environment. We carry out projects that encourage residents to use eco-friendly transportation, such as Metrorower—the largest bike-sharing system in Poland, which has become part of the “TAURON Green City of the Future” exhibition. “We are pleased that the ‘TAURON Green City of the Future’ project showcases concrete solutions and inspires further action toward creating cities that are more resident-friendly – says Łukasz Zych, spokesperson for the Upper Silesian-Zagłębie Metropolis.
The collaboration between the local government and the private sector has made it possible to create a space that inspires reflection on the future. Maciej Stachura, Vice Mayor of Katowice, emphasized the importance of this project for the education of the youngest children:
For years, Katowice has been transforming from an industrial city into a hub for business, culture, and new technologies. The TAURON Green City of the Future project at the Porcelain Factory is the next step in educating the youngest residents—not only of Katowice and the Katowice Metropolitan Area, but of all of Poland. Here, we will show that a modern city is one that lives in harmony with nature. The educational aspect of the exhibition goes beyond mere observation—it focuses on learning through experience. Joanna Bojczuk, Deputy Marshal of the Silesian Voivodeship, emphasized that it is here that the identity of the modern Silesian is shaped.

The “TAURON Green City of the Future” exhibition will be open to visitors free of charge in the fall of 2026 at the Porcelain Factory in Katowice. The project will feature talks, lectures, conferences, and meetings with experts.
