Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Katowice has been cooperating with the largest organization representing the SME sector in Europe for many years. Additional reinforcement of joint activities is the appointment of Tomasz Zjawiony, President of the Chamber, to the Board of Directors of the international association of entrepreneurs.
The main goal of the established organization, founded in 1992, is to create favorable conditions for the development and competitiveness of SMEs in the European market. The group unites more than 2.4 million companies with a total of more than 23 million employees in 33 countries. In addition, it maintains partnerships with 15 associations on various continents, including Europe, the Americas, Africa, Asia, Australia and New Zealand.
The priority of the voluntary companies’ confederation is to represent the interests of SMEs of all sectors before the European institutions, so that their voice is heard and taken into account when creating new legislation, trade agreements of the European Union, commensurate with their importance to the European economy.

We share common values, we look forward to reducing EU bureaucracy, strengthening the single market and providing SMEs with more trade opportunities, as well as improving access to finance and promoting flexible labor markets – noted Tomasz Zjawiony, Board Member of European Entrepreneurs CEA-PME.
CEA-PME representatives participate in seven working groups of the European Commission. Tomasz Zjawiony will participate in one of them, taking a position in the area of industry, steel, energy and other key issues for the economy.
It is worth mentioning that the organization is a permanent partner of the largest event aimed at entrepreneurs – the European SME Congress – organized for the fourteenth time by the Regional Chamber of Commerce in Katowice. This year’s edition will take place on October 29-30 at the International Congress Center in Katowice.
