Non-trivial performances, educational activities, social actions. Inclusivity and openness. Time has come for the new year. The Theater of Zagłębie is becoming a member of chamber of commerce, in January it joined the ranks of Member Companies of Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Katowice, and before that the Zagłębie Chamber of Commerce.
–We have an average of 50,000 visitors per season, and our messages reach about 150,000 people every month. We visit polish and foreign festivals, play in befriended cultural centers scattered throughout the country. Our activities are not limited to those of an artistic nature – we reach out to educational institutions, successfully implementing educational workshops, promoting ecology and pro-social actions. Now it’s time to go a step further. It’s time for partnership with business – says Iwona Wozniak, director of the Zagłębie Theater.
Business and culture can learn a lot from each other, their partnership may bring good results and influence the development of the other sectors. For this to happen, however, there is a need for both a common language between representatives of business and culture, as well as platforms in which this cooperation could develop. This is why the Zagłębie Theater has become a member of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Katowice and an honorary member of the Zagłębie Chamber of Commerce.
– We want to be a part of this community, to work together for the benefit of our region, to promote and support each other – the director explained.
The Zagłębie Theater has formally become an important part of the region’s economy. The ceremonial presentation of the Katowice CCI membership deed took place on the occasion of Monday’s Economic Opening of the Year, which was combined with an open meeting of Member Companies, an annual event of the Katowice Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Katowice. In the tropical scenery of the Exotarium Environmental Education Center in Sosnowiec, representatives of government authorities, provincial and local government, as well as representatives of business-related institutions discussed cooperation and synergy of activities for the first time with representatives of the Zagłębie Theater – already as members of the CCI.
Earlier, the Zagłębie Chamber of Commerce decided to include the Zagłębie Theater as an honorary member of the ZIG.
– This is an honor for us, which shows, that working together hand in hand and treating each other as partners, we are able to do much more for our region – to promote it responsibly and show that quality is really taken care of here – comments Iwona Wozniak.
