8 tables, 80 representatives of member companies, integration, a round of introductions and effective business relations – this is how the Networking Closed Meeting of RIG member companies, held on May 20 at the Park Hotel Diament Katowice, can be summarized in a nutshell.
The second event in this year’s new series, created specifically for owners and executives of RIG member companies, is an excellent space for first discussions and cooperation – in the future finalized by successful contracts – as well as a place for the exchange of good practices and mutual support of entrepreneurs.
– Welcome to the elite group. Thank you, representatives of Member Companies, for filling this meeting with your hearts, smiles and willingness to cooperate. We are at your service. If you have ideas on how to expand the range of events, products or projects implemented by the Chamber – let us know – stressed Tomasz Zjawiony, President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Katowice, opening the meeting.

The number of entrepreneurs who are members of the Katowice Chamber has already exceeded 600 companies. Traditionally, during the meeting, certificates and welcome packages were received by a group of more business representatives who have joined the ranks of the GIS in recent months.

A new member of the Chamber’s family has also been appointed Mayor of Wisla as Vice President of the RIG for Local Government Affairs.
– I wondered, why me? I used to be an entrepreneur, now I’m a local government official, so I will take on this challenge. Thank you for this honorable mandate of trust and I hope I will live up to it. I am at your disposal – noted Tomasz Bujok, Mayor of Wisła and Vice President for Local Government Affairs of the RIG in Katowice.
Guests were also welcomed by the event’s co-host Rafal Bakalarski, president of Diament Hotels, who mentioned that the chain, which has 13 hotels in Poland, plans to expand with more facilities, including abroad.
In turn, Dr. Marcin Lis, Prof. AWSB, Vice-Rector for Student Affairs and Cooperation with the Environment of the WSB Academy, the Content Partner of the meeting, spoke about the successes of the university: third place in the ranking of the best non-public higher education institutions and the presence of all MBA courses in the “golden fifteen” in the prestigious “Perspectives” ranking.
He also encouraged entrepreneurs to cooperate with the university’s Center for Regional Development, which aims to conduct innovation-oriented research and support programming and business development.

Another highlight of the program was a team-building game. This time the team kick-off consisted of predicting the correct answer to a question about the behavioral behavior of 7 billion people using the Internet for one minute – One Minute Internet. The correct answers turned out to be somewhat surprising. The first place on the podium is held by the good old e-mail, followed by the fun Tik Tok and instant messaging services like SMS or WhatsApp. It turned out that the ever-popular Facebook is not in the top ten!

The knowledge quiz generated even more excitement. Attendees who correctly and in the fastest time answered questions about the organizer, co-host and partners of the event – (for example, where the Alpine Pro brand comes from, how many rooms are in the Diament Hotel chain or what Interactifs company does) – were rewarded with attractive prizes.

After a round of 30-second presentations in a moderated networking session. all participants were able to indulge in inspiring conversation and networking among entrepreneurs over refreshments.
