With the beginning of the year Silesia Convention Bureau has launched a new industry project – a cycle of meetings for the ambassadors of polish congresses and regional science and business community. This is another step in the development of the regional meetings industry.
To support the organization of congresses in the Silesian Voivodeship Silesia Convention Bureau decided to cooperate with Polish Congress Ambassadors from our region and the regional scientific and business community. For this purpose, a series of meetings called Silesia Ambassador Day was launched. The series was inaugurated on January 8 this year at the International Congress Center in Katowice. The meeting was very popular, attracting dozens of guests from the world of science and business, including several congress ambassadors from our region.
One part of the meeting was a presentation of the assumptions of the Polish Congress Ambassadors Program led by Paula Fanderowska – president of SKKP and vice-president of the board of directors of Krakow 5020. The ACP Program is implemented jointly by the Polish Tourist Organization and SKKP in cooperation with city and regional convention bureaus from all over Poland. It serves to promote Poland as a venue for international congresses and conferences. Its purpose is to attract congresses to Poland and to provide effective assistance in attracting such events to our country.
The purpose of the Silesia Ambassador Day meetings will be to work with Polish congress ambassadors from our region, to recruit candidates for the title of ambassador and ultimately to establish a Local Ambassador Club. So far, 33 people from the Silesia region have received the congress ambassador statuette, mostly connected with the scientific, but also business environment. Silesia Convention Bureau’s mission is to increase this honorable group. Cooperation with congress ambassadors can have a real impact on effectively attracting major conferences and congresses to the region and building a positive image of the region at home and abroad.
