5 September 2024 will go down in history as a day of closer business cooperation between Poland and India. A meeting with an Indian delegation was held at the headquarters of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Katowice, attended by President Tomasz Zjawiony. The event took place during Expo Katowice and was dedicated to the development of business cooperation in the coal mining sector.

 

 

An important delegation from India attended the meeting, representing various sectors including mining, steel, ports and international. The delegation was headed by Mohan Lal, Commercial Counsellor at the Indian Embassy in Warsaw, who played a key role in strengthening ties between Polish and Indian companies. Along with him, the visit to Poland was made by:

 

  • Vivek Bhatia – Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of TKIL Industries Pvt. Ltd. (formerly ThyssenKrupp Industries Pvt. Ltd.),
  • T.V.S.S. Srinivas – Business director for steel, mining, ports and international business development,
  • Indranil Roy – Director of Mining at TKIL Industries India Pvt. z o.o.,
  • John Kuruvilla – Regional Director, Confederation of Indian Industry (CII),
  • Zoha Khursid – Deputy Director of CII,
  • Ravi Todi – managing Director of BTL EPC Ltd.,
  • Ramesh Babu– Managing Director of Mahal Hydraulics Private Limited.

 

Main discussion topics

 

The meeting covered a wide range of topics that included not only coal mining, but also potential investments in new technologies and innovative solutions for the mining sector. Both parties agreed that cooperation between Poland and India has great potential, especially in the context of global challenges related to the mining industry and the need for energy transition.

 

The discussions were not only substantive, but also full of optimism and prospects for the future. Poland, with its rich experience in the mining sector, can become a strategic partner for Indian companies in modernizing mining technologies. In turn, India, as a dynamically developing market, represents a huge opportunity for Polish engineering and technology companies.

 

 

Future of cooperation

 

This event is proof that Polish-Indian cooperation in the business sector is steadily growing. The presence of such prominent personalities from the world of Indian industry underlines the importance India attaches to strengthening economic relations with Poland. Further meetings and concrete activities can be expected in the future, which will contribute to the implementation of joint projects.
