KBZ Żuradzki Law Firm Barczyk & Wspólnicy is undergoing a strategic cooperation with Hui Ye Law Firm to help Chinese businesses in their development on polish and European markets.

The Katowice KBZ Żuradzki Barczyk & Wspólnicy has formed a long term cooperation agreement with Hui Ye Law Firm – one of the biggest and most renowned laws firms in China, hiring over 1500 employees in 41 offices within a accordingly made strategy for supporting Asian businesses in European expansion.

In mid-May this year, experts from KBZ – Marcin Barczyk, Partner, and Marcin Ociepka, Junior Partner – visited Beijing and Chengdu. As part of a week-long delegation under the slogan Bridging Business Law, the lawyers were hosted by representatives of leading Chinese law firms, sharing key insights on cross-border investments.

They met with the representatives of the Yuhong law firm in the Capital City of China, JunHe and Thornhill Legal talking about possibilities for cooperation and exchanging experiences in the field of Chinese customer service in Europe.

The delegation concluded with a meeting at the Hui Ye law firm, where a seminar was held for Chinese investors. During the seminar, lawyers from both countries joined forces to comprehensively discuss the legal aspects of expanding into European markets – from the process of establishing and running a business, through the significant differences between the structures of Polish and Chinese companies, to practical conclusions from the economic cooperation between the two countries to date.

Signing the Cooperation Agreement between both law firm Partners – Bi Yingzhi and Ling Xiao from Hui Ye Chengdu as well as Marcin Barczyk and Marcin Ociepka from KBZ – was the concluding moment of the event, establishing long term strategic partnership, whose goal is to support Chinese businesses in entering the polish and EU market but also helping European clients in navigating the Chinese legal system.

Both law firms have committed to close cooperation in areas such as corporate law, intellectual property, mergers and acquisitions, and ESG, operating under a preferred but non-exclusive cooperation model based on resource sharing and mutual client referrals, substantive support and optimization of cross-border transaction costs, as well as ongoing information exchange, joint publications, and events.

Our cooperation with Hui Ye is an important step in implementing our strategy of building legal bridges. Together, we are creating a stable legal framework for businesses operating at the intersection of Asia and Europe. Current geopolitical trends clearly indicate that China will intensify its expansion into European markets, and Poland, due to its location and economic potential, may become a natural point of entry. This makes it all the more important to build a legal infrastructure that will facilitate and accelerate this process – comments Marcin Barczyk.

– The agreement allows us to operate more efficiently and effectively. We are creating a real platform for the business of tomorrow – and it is coming faster than we expected. This can be seen, for example, in the automotive industry, where Chinese companies are increasingly boldly and effectively gaining a foothold in European markets – adds Marcin Ociepka.

We are proud of the opportunity to deepen our presence in China through cooperation with such a renowned law firm as Hui Ye. This allows us to respond even better to the needs of clients operating in international markets. This cooperation is part of KBZ’s long-term strategy – we are a pioneer among Silesian law firms in terms of cooperation with Asian markets. Today, we are successfully developing our Korean Desk, and in the near future we hope to establish a Chinese Desk as well – concludes Krzysztof Żuradzki, Managing Partner at KBZ.

The agreement, signed on May 16, 2025, represents a significant step towards expanding the international reach and competence of both law firms.
