Jarosław Szeja and Marcin Szeja are the new Rally Champions of Poland! The GK Forge LOTTO Rally Team crew sealed the coveted title during their home Rally of Silesia. The brothers from Ustroń showed off their very confident, calm, safe, yet fast driving throughout the weekend. This brought a dream come true and their first historic title.
Sunday’s stage of the Silesia Rally meant six special stages with a total length of more than 81 kilometers for the competitors. The competition was made more difficult by the fact that the weather broke in the south of the Silesian Province. Rain and strong wind meant that the teams had to remain extremely concentrated and select their tires perfectly. The slightest mistake here could have meant the end of the rally in a fraction of a second.
Jaroslaw and Marcin Szejow meticulously carried out their objectives. The GK Forge LOTTO Rally Team crew drove very smartly. The brothers from Ustroń controlled the situation by driving fast, but at the same time not taking unnecessary risks. In the end, the Szejs finished the Rally of Silesia in 3rd place in the RSMP stakes, also earning 3 additional points for the Power Stage.
Such a result means that the GK Forge LOTTO Rally Team crew sealed their first historic title of Polish Rally Champions in the general classification. Throughout the season, the Szejas showed great pace. Although they were not immune to mistakes, they notoriously stood on the podium and won two rounds of the RSMP. Their confident, consistent driving brought them the championship title of their dreams.
Jaroslaw Szeja: – I don’t know what to say. This is the fulfillment of our biggest dreams. We have dedicated a chunk of our lives to this goal. We are Polish rally champions and this is an indescribable feeling. I thank my brother, with whom we have shared this beautiful road for years. They have given us their trust, and we have shown that it is worthwhile to follow this common path with us. Today we are all new Polish champions.
