In the digital age, digital skills are becoming a key element in the functioning of small and medium-sized enterprises worldwide, especially in the retail sector. The e-SELLER project, of which RIG is a partner, aims to support SME employees, especially in rural areas of the European Union, in acquiring the modern digital skills that are essential for 21st century sales.
Digital e-Retail Report
In order to effectively support the development of companies, the e-SELLER project partners first carried out detailed research to understand the specific needs of companies in the partner countries. The results of this research form the foundation for the developed training program, which precisely addresses the challenges of digitalization in retail.
The research included expert interviews with vocational education and training (VET) providers and trainers to better understand training needs in the retail sector. The findings confirmed that retailers, particularly in rural areas, face a number of challenges related to the rapid growth of e-commerce.
The report also acts as an awareness-raising tool among chambers of commerce and associations so that they are better prepared to implement policy changes to promote competitiveness and employment at local and regional level. The document, available in the four languages of the partner countries on the project’s official website.
The e-SELLER platform: a key tool in digital education
One of the main results of the e-SELLER project is a specially developed e-learning platform that offers a wide range of educational materials. Most importantly, all resources are available free of charge, making it even more attractive for SMEs, especially those located in rural areas.

On the e-SELLER platform you can find:
- Training modules: Covering various aspects of e-retailing, from theoretical basics to practical exercises, case studies and visual aids. The modules are designed to provide participants with the solid foundations and skills needed to work in the modern digital environment.
- Video tutorials: Step-by-step tutorial videos that show how to use modern technology in retail. Examples include: creating chatbots, using e-commerce and creating 3D models of products.
- e-cards: This interactive tool supports the development of soft skills such as time management, communication or problem solving. Each card depicts a real-life scenario from e-commerce, helping employees to better understand and apply these skills in practice.
