What is particularly noteworthy is that, in the current economic and political situation, this partnership is the new currency of growth; the Sino-Polish ties are proof of its value.

After the brief welcome to the participants, it was time for presentations on the business environment in Katowice and the Silesian region. Jacek Woźnikowski from GZM Katowice presented the broad range of activities carried out by the GZM Metropolis, including spatial planning, socio-economic development of the metropolitan area, and the planning, coordination, and development of public transportation. He also discussed passenger transport in the metropolis, cooperation in determining the routes of national and regional roads, the promotion of the metropolitan association, as well as efforts related to climate change adaptation and sustainable mobility. Particular attention was given to the MetroBike system – 7,000 bikes at over 900 stations across 31 municipalities – and innovative projects such as hydrogen transport and e-mobility in low-emission zones (LEZ).

After the presentation session, the next item on the agenda was a networking lunch. The meeting provided an excellent opportunity for informal conversations with representatives of Polish companies and the Chinese delegation, exchanging experiences, and exploring potential ideas for collaboration.
