“This year has been intense, diverse, and very successful,” says Iwona Woźniak, President of the Zagłębie Theater. The 2024/2025 season was marked by artistic premieres, festivals, educational initiatives, and preparations for the theater’s major expansion. The final highlight of the season was the exclusive premiere of the spectacle “The Promised Land” for the business community – a meeting of culture, ideas, and partnership at Bank Sztuki.

The collaboration with the economic sector grows increasingly intense and significant each year. The incredible season finale was the VIP premiere of the spectacle “The Promised Land”, specially prepared for the Theater’s business partners.

– We have said many times that the Zagłębie Theater and business world are growing closer. On the last Thursday of June we had another opportunity to do so – the season finale and special premiere of “The Promised Land” at Bank Sztuki – says Iwona Woźniak.

This event has gathered representatives of Zagłębie Chamber of Commerce, Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Katowice, Katowice Special Economic Zone, TANDEM Group (Tandem & Alfa Romeo Sosnowiec), Bank Sztuki and many other organizations. The meeting was not only an opportunity to express gratitude for our shared initiatives, but also a confirmation that the partnership between culture and business can create a real value, fostering a modern, open and responsible region.

– Our partners had a chance to realize that together means more, better and definitely more interesting – adds the Theater’s president.

The 2024/2025 season was also a remarkable example of artistic activity: 228 performances, over 45,000 spectators, 4 premieres, and participation in 13 different festivals, including the Divine Comedy Festival in Cracow, the Dwa Teatry Festival in Sopot, and the Little Divine Comedy Festival, where the performance “The Secret Garden” was recognized as one of the five most interesting productions.

Educational and social activities were also a key part of the season – over 80 events were organized, including theater lessons, family workshops, meetings with the youth, as well as accessibility initiatives under the “Accessible Stage” program.

During this season, the theater also received over 4,600,000 PLN from the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage of the Republic of Poland, 230,000 PLN from the National Recovery Plan, 351,000 PLN from the Just Transition Fund, and, most importantly, record funding of nearly 59,000,000 PLN from EU funds and the City of Sosnowiec for the long-awaited major expansion and modernization of the theater.

– This season was dynamic, challenging, but also full of satisfaction. We are grateful to our audience for their presence, to our partners for their trust, and to our staff for the passion that keeps Zagłębie Theater alive every day – says Iwona Woźniak.
