A record number of applications for training courses at this year’s Katowice Academy of Entrepreneurial Development proves that entrepreneurs are focusing on additional skills that help them achieve business success, even though finding two days in a busy schedule for learning is not always easy.
The Katowice Academy of Entrepreneurial Development is a joint project of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Katowice and the City of Katowice. The workshops are intended for Katowice-based companies, and their aim is to provide comprehensive knowledge enabling them to develop their business and compete more effectively on the Polish and foreign markets..
What makes the training courses offered by the Katowice Academy of Entrepreneurial Development so attractive to companies? First and foremost, the topics are selected in cooperation with entrepreneurs, which means that they truly meet their needs. In addition, the organizers focus on quality and small groups, in which each participant has the time and opportunity to discuss specific problems facing their company. The workshops are based on exercises, and the trainers not only teach, but also demonstrate the practical application of the acquired knowledge.
I am very happy that I had the opportunity to participate in two training courses at the Katowice Academy of Entrepreneurial Development. It was a great dose of knowledge and inspiration, but the additional value lies in the contacts I made, which in my case have already turned into plans for business cooperation, both with one of the participants and with the trainer – says Anna Wojanowska from the SD Group. S.C. and the Sweet Decor Cooking Academy.
And what did company representatives learn during these five meetings between May and December?
The first two training sessions were devoted to various aspects of using artificial intelligence in business activities: from everyday office work and the use of ChatGPT in email correspondence, text and graphic creation, to the use of AI “services” in marketing.
In September, participants tackled the topic of negotiation and sales:
I had the opportunity to participate in one of the previous editions of the training, and now I have been invited to share my knowledge with the participants – says negotiation trainer Mikołaj Tarnawski – I hope that I was able to share with the participants a dose of specific and practical information that will change their approach to negotiations and sales, which are often perceived as an unpleasant and difficult topic. The aim of the training was to provide my group with an effective method that would enable them not only to conclude more lasting agreements to their advantage, but also to discover and solve the customer’s real problems.
During the November meeting, participants had the opportunity to learn about something that every entrepreneur surely dreams of: how to get customers to come to us, i.e., how to develop a personal brand.
The last training session in December addressed the issue of promoting a company on Google and social media: this topic is not new, but companies still have doubts, not only about how to use this form of promotion, but even whether to use it at all, so the meeting was full of heated discussions.
Tomasz Zjawiony, President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Katowice, sums up this year’s KARP cycle as follows:
This was the fifth edition, and we feel satisfied when we see how this project is developing and hear entrepreneurs’ kind words about the quality of the training. Thanks to conversations with participants, we also know that this knowledge allows entrepreneurs to develop in real terms, not only young ones, but also more experienced ones, who, thanks to the training, gain the courage to take new actions, such as promoting their company on the Internet or building a personal brand. We constantly cheer them on and always encourage them to take advantage of RIG’s offer and our support.
We would like to thank all participants, lecturers, and partners of the Katowice Academy of Entrepreneurial Development! Companies interested in the next edition are invited to follow the RIG website in the spring: www.rig.katowice.pl
