Initiator and co-initiator of a number of activities promoting the development of Katowice and the
region, including the Regional Development Agency, the Agency for Enterprise Transformation and
the 12 Local Development Agencies. Active participant in the process of economic and social
reconstruction of Silesia, co-author of the work on the Regional Contract for the Katowice region
from 1992 to 1997.
From 1990-2018. President, co-founder of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Katowice. Since
1993, he has been Vice President of the National Chamber of Commerce. In 1997-1998 he was Head
of the Political Cabinet of the Minister of Economy, while in 1998-2001 he held the position of
Undersecretary of State in the Ministry of Economy. Since 2018, he has been Honorary President of
the CCI in Katowice.
Graduate of the Faculty of Law and Administration at the University of Silesia. Author of about 500
papers, speeches and publications on the system of market economy, marketing, liquidity in
companies, issues of small and medium-sized enterprises, foreign trade and export promotion,
regional policy and tourism.
