The first meeting of the e-SELLER* project team took place on 14-15 February this year. The classic ice-breaking took place in Düsseldorf, where the headquarters of the project leader, Westdeutscher Handwerkskammertag (WHKT), is located.
The objective of the e-SELLER project is the development of digital transformation and support of the retail entrepreneurs operating outside of large urban centres in this area.
During the kick-off the all the aspects of managing the work of the team and the role of the various partners in the process were discussed in detail. Objectives, potential risks and ways to measure success were defined. The first, research part of the project was also summarised during the meeting.
Based on the research, conducted in parallel in Germany, Greece and Poland, three national reports will be produced to illustrate the current state of e-commerce in these countries. The repots will also be a valuable source of knowledge on digital skills, gaps in that area and the diagnosed needs and challenges currently faced by retail workforce in rural areas of the EU. In the next stages of the project training materials will be developed to help overcome and remove the barriers brought about by the digital transformation and still faced by entrepreneurs.
